She says she’s from Aib, knew my name, asked to confirm address and looked for DOB, I questioned what call was in relation to and she started getting jumpy, so i asked if it was fraudulent and she said to ring the number back.

Answered call and it immediately started ringing another line i.e. redirecting to a different location from the number the call was received from. Hung up and didn't wait to her anymore as re-direct sound made it seem like call would be to another location and massive call charges could be incurred.

Person claiming to be from AIB secure department, was fake. (Scam call) reported by


Person calling claiming to be from AIBs secure department, knew phone number and name and wanted to confirm further details for my account. Was suspicious from the start that it was fake and when pressed for further details on the relation to the call, they quickly ended the call. Watch out for this and giving details always tell them you will call back your bank directly.

said they were from aib but number came up as suspected spam on my phone so I was already cagey. Wanted my personal information and wouldn't tell me what the call was about. Knew my name. Didn't give them any info, they got a bit frustrated that I wouldn't.

I had a missed call from this number on my mobile but no message left. Also similar number called me recently, probably the same marketing company? don't wanna call back since I do not know the number - it could be just a robocaller testing if my number is responding, don't want to let them know my line is active...
